NBC #alejandromayorkas #bordercrisis #mayorkasimpeachment 🇺🇸The House of Representatives has successfully voted 214-213 to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for committing high crimes and misdemeanors in his mishandling of the southern border.

 Mayorkas is the first sitting Cabinet Secretary to be impeached since Secretary of War William Belknap’s impeachment in 1876.

The historic vote was successful after failing to reach sufficient votes initially last week. A trial in the Senate requires

a two-thirds majority for conviction where Senate is narrowly controlled by the Democrats. The House will present the impeachment articles to the Senate on February 26.

“Alejandro Mayorkas deserves to be impeached, and Congress has a constitutional obligation to do so” House Speaker Mike Johnson said following the historic vote.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said in a statement, “The House impeachment managers will present the articles of impeachment to the Senate following the state work period.” He continued, “Senators will be sworn in as jurors in the trial the next day. This year, for the first time, there will be three ceremonies on two different days celebrating our nominees. The tickets for October 28th are good for both the Creative Arts Ceremony & the 66th Annual NY Emmy Awards Gala. You cannot buy a ticket for just one of the ceremonies. Seating for the Creative Arts will be theater style without assigned seats. Seating for the Gala will be at tables. Seating at the 1st Annual NY Sports Emmy Awards on October 30th will be theater style with no assigned seats.

 Allegedly last year neighbors contacted the Fayetteville Board of Commissions  of traffic complaints, as others signed petitions to have the event canceled as a result of Ross’s Car and Bike Show last year.
